Huaxin Carbide Is Heading to Dortmund for InterTabac & InterSupply 2026

On a tobacco processing floor, the first sign that a cutting blade is failing rarely shows up as a warning light. It shows up as a slightly ragged edge on a shredded leaf, a filter cut that’s a fraction of a millimeter off, or a maintenance technician pulled off another job two shifts early to swap a knife that should have lasted the week. Multiply that across a line running Hauni, GD, Molins, or Focke equipment around the clock, and a blade that wears out too soon stops being a small inconvenience and starts eating directly into output and margin.

It’s exactly that conversation — hardness, wear life, tolerance, and how much longer a blade can realistically run before it needs changing — that Huaxin Cemented Carbide will be having in Dortmund this September, and we’d like you to be part of it.

Huaxin has spent years working almost exclusively at the intersection of tungsten carbide metallurgy and high-speed tobacco processing — supplying cutting knives for leaf shredding, filter rod cutting, and cigarette paper slitting to lines running on machinery from Hauni, GD, Molins, Focke, Decoufle, Sasib, Garbuio, Dickinson Legg, ITM, Comas, and Kunming. That narrow focus matters more than it might sound: a blade profile that’s a fraction of a degree off, or carbide that’s graded for general industrial use rather than tobacco’s specific combination of speed and material softness, shows up quickly as inconsistent cuts or premature dulling.

What we bring to that problem is control over the parts of the process most suppliers outsource. Raw tungsten carbide material is sourced and processed in-house rather than bought pre-formed from a third party, which means grain structure, hardness, and wear resistance can be tuned to a specific machine and cutting application rather than sold as one-size-fits-all stock. And because our engineers work directly with customers on blade geometry and tolerances — rather than routing every technical question through a sales layer — a spec change that would normally take weeks of back-and-forth can often be resolved in a single conversation.
